Sellersville, PA was founded in 1738 on land purchased by Abraham Wambold. Samuel Sellers arrived in 1780 and built a tavern known as Sellers Tavern, and in time, that became the name of the village. The name was changed to Sellersville in 1866. In the 1900's the industrial revolution reached Sellersville and the United States Gauge Company and the Schulmerich Carillons Company came to borough and are still operating today.
