    • Reliable "big" small car

We've had this car for almost 8 years and it's been reliable all the time. All we did is oil change, tire rotation, new brake pads and rotors. We commute in this car to work and it delivers every workday in the past years. No a single mechanical/electrical problem. I believe this is due to the fact it is made in Japan by Toyota. Interior is quite spacious we once transported loveseats in it. The interior design is not outdated even in 2019 imo! Overall, we love this car and are hesitant to replace it with something new. Let's see how long it lasts.
    • Great car, great value

Bought my XB brand new. Loved the utility, space, Scion purchase practices and safety features. Good power, decent if not spectacular mileage. It always needed a 5-speed automatic but tranny was thoroughly reliable. A balanced car that got though Wisconsin winters remarkably well, even with fairly worn rubber. Repairs were minimal, mostly just wear items. Did most maintenance myself. Seat height was comfortable for kids and elderly parents alike. Just over ten years and 150K my Scion gave it’s last full measure of devotion. It sacrificed itself in a heavy side collision with an older Buick: t-boned in the drivers door. The XB was totaled. I walked away with a scuffed left elbow and a sore neck. Remarkable! I’m truly going to miss my friend, my stout and reliable Scion XB.
    • Great relatively inexpensive car

I have owned everything from full sized trucks to hot rods and bought my brand new 2015 XB as a daily commuter. I previously owned a Honda Element and wanted another box type vehicle. I get 23.5-24 MPG on my daily commute in the XB which is 90% highway 10 % city driving - 72 miles a day . The original brake pads lasted 98k miles . I do my oil changes every 5k miles. No other repairs have been done so far . In 4 yrs I have put 110,000 miles on it . The AC , stereo and seats are functioning fine with no defects so far . I just put a new serpentine acc. belt, wiper blades, pads on it and had to replace the original battery in December 2018 . Great reliable car for the money . I paid around $21k out the door for mine here in Florida.
